OTHER INITIATIVES:

The TLC represents the tourism community on many committees and task forces for various programs and projects. If there is an issue affecting our industry that you believe we can assist with, please be sure to let us know! The following are other priorities for the TLC:

Community Liaison - TLC is focused on assuring that our political representatives, both on the municipal and state level, are fully informed of the issues facing the tourism industry and are aware of the contributions made by and the needs of this community. A high priority is placed on building synergies between our organization and other organizations and city departments in Savannah. Task forces are set up to tackle issues of public safety, the perception of our community and how all of the stakeholders in our community can work together toward our common goals.

Mobility Front Line Training - In conjunction with the Mobility Management Board and Savannah Technical College, the TLC has developed a Mobility Front Line Training Program. The training features the new Downtown Transportation - 'dot' - system and how it fits into the existing transportation options in the Historic and Convention Districts of Savannah.

Workforce Development -Workforce development, including job fairs, jobsinsavannah.com oversight, building partnerships and relationships with schools and creating/maintaining programs to assist in further developing Savannah's hospitality workforce, remains a top priority for the TLC.
